About Ledger
Ledger turns bank and credit card statements into a clear monthly picture: category-wise expenses, income, investments, savings rate and trend lines over time. It was built for personal use and is now being tested with a small group of invited users.
Who builds it
Ledger is designed and built by Sayantan Roy, based in India, as an independent personal project. It is not affiliated with any bank or financial institution. You can reach the owner at sayantan.royy@gmail.com.
What it does
You upload a statement — CSV, Excel or PDF, including password protected PDFs — and Ledger reads it in your browser, matches transactions against keyword rules, and asks you to confirm anything unclear. Confirmed choices become rules, so the same merchant is categorised the same way next month. Households can link accounts to see a shared view, with an option to keep individual transactions private.
What it is not
There is no bank connection, no request for banking credentials or card numbers, and no advertising. Ledger only ever sees the statement files you choose to give it.
Current status
The app is in user acceptance testing and access is invite-only. If you would like to try it, email the owner and your request will be reviewed.
